We are delighted to have been recognised and accepted as a member of the National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). The NCVO promotes and supports volunteering across the United Kingdom, working with over 10,000 non-profit member organisations to empower millions of volunteers on a regular basis. We are very proud to join this community and look forward to contributing to the NCVO’s vision of solving problems, addressing root causes and inspiring one another.
“Because a vibrant and thriving voluntary sector improves the world around it.”
The NCVO has been supporting volunteering activities for over 90 years, helping their members stay up to date with latest best practices and resources, offering expert consultation, and putting better policies to the government. Membership is thus highly sought-after, with a stringent application process, so we are delighted to have been successfully accepted as a full non-profit member. We fully support the NVCO’s recognition that every charity is ‘vital for sustaining society in times of challenge and change’ and we look forward to working with other agencies and organisations in South-East London towards this goal. Indeed, several Apax staff members directly apply NCVO’s mission of ‘championing volunteering and civil society’ by regularly volunteering outside of work within community building efforts such as children’s classes and junior youth empowerment projects at the local neighbourhood level. Aaron, who volunteers as a children’s class teacher said:
“It is a great experience to witness the development and growth of children through these classes to eventually become contributors towards betterment of society as they grow older.”
